The proposal looks to add a sensitive addition to the existing Cottage, offering a contemporary interpretation of a traditional agricultural cattle shed.
"After nearly three years and several different refused planning submissions from leading architects, we asked Eliot to take over our project and produce a new scheme in a difficult and sensitive listed building/conservation area context. Eliot provided a professional and friendly service all the way through to securing listed building and planning permissions, working hard to realise a new vision. He produced a great, winning design - we would highly recommend Eliot!"

The single storey extension allows for a homogenous aesthetic in keeping with the local vernacular, through minimal and sensitive alterations.
The addition will provide much needed additional floor space for the client, bringing the Cottage up to modern living standards.
By creating an open plan kitchen and dining space centred around a proposed courtyard, the original dwelling is reconnected to the garden.
Rather than introducing a traditional roof pitch or an expansive flat roof, an offset mono-pitched roof has been proposed to reduce the visual scale of the scheme.
Planning permission was granted in Summer 2021.
